Capitals of Europe

What to do with this activity?

Does your child know the capitals of all the European countries? Here's a fiercely difficult online game from Toporopa to help them learn their European geography. There are 47 countries and 47 capitals.

We hope they know the easier ones - Dublin for Ireland, Paris for France, London for the UK, Berlin for Germany, Rome for Italy, and Madrid for Spain. But how about the capitals of Moldova, Lithuania or Slovenia? They will soon learn by getting the answer wrong first time and then eventually getting it right. See if they can increase their score out of 47 each time they play.

By the way, Turkey is in both Asia and Europe.

  • Why am I doing this?

Playing is one of the most effective ways children learn. It builds your child’s concentration and thinking skills as well as building their skills in using numbers, seeing patterns and being able to group things together. Playing games with others helps their social skills and gives them a chance to practice things they have heard and seen.

  • How can I do more?

Playing games that involve words are great for increasing your child’s vocabulary. Games that involve dices and numbers help with maths and logical reasoning.
